Dies Viginti Sex

It is over, the project has come to a finish, despite the battle yesterday I still went about my duties.  The rain was driving as usual and it was an early start at 6am, I did a 4 mile march in an hour along my usual route, my legs and shoulders were screaming. I didn't have a weighted rucksack or vest as I couldn't bare it. My lunchtime march was a bit easier with 1.5 miles covered. By this time the sun was out and everything was going well. My evening march was a 3 mile march to finish things off.  Manual labour wise I was clearing a small patch of brush wood, I didn't do much as a result of yesterday.  Training wise I didn't do any as I was too sore from the battle.  Nutrition wise it was the final day of the stew. I have mixed feelings about the stew but I will discuss this later.  Mentally, I am tired yet happy. It's been an incredible month and I felt my mental state has improved.  Reflection Weight My current weight is 153lbs (69.39kg) where a...

Die Viginti Quinque

There was no march today, today was the day if battle so all morning energy was to be saved. As a result of the impending battle all manual labour was cancelled.  The enemy forces were sighted 1 mile away from the fort so the legionairres marches out at a quick pase, this was a light 1 mile jog with body armour and scutum (5kg dumbell) The forces met on a slope. The Romans fought fiercley up hill for the next hour, rotating their troops to allow short breaks. (This part of the workout consisted of as many burpees as possible in 30 seconds followed by 20 gladuis stabs and scutum pushes then AMRAP ( As Many Reps As Possible) burpees in 30 seconds I then had a 'rest' of walking up hill for a minute and a half. ) After fierce fighting the enemy routed and we're chased down my the troops ( another 1.5 mile light jog, pausing every couple hundred meters for AMRAP burpees for 30 seconds.  This workout was a killer, I felt absolutley drained, my shoulders neck and ankles are sor...

Die Viginti Quattuor

The day started at a late 6:45 AM, a quick walk of 2 miles was done in full rucksack and weighted vest. This absolutley killed my neck and shoulders. The weather started to lighten up during the day so my mid day and evening marches were easier.  Labour wise I was digging your foundations and pouring concrete for a decking so that worked up quite a sweat.  Training was hard today, especially after the manual labour. The scutum and gladuis movements proved to be difficult in particular, I did 150 g&s movements, 100 burpees and 200 squats  all with body armour. I could really feel my heart pumping which was good. I'll do a full brak down later but my resting heart rate currently is at an average of 59 ! So the training is definitely helping.  The stew is still good, don't have many complaints, I've got leeks in it this time instead of cabbage which is proving nice. I'm still supplementing with apples and some cheese. Calorie wise I'm still hitting around 3000...

Dies Viginti Tres

Sorry there hasn't been a report in the past few days, I took the weekend of and was out of town for work all day yesterday. The past few days were busy, over the weekend I had two landscaping jobs which took up a lot of time and physical exertion, I was however able to train on Saturday. Marching wise I was able to go roughly 10 miles each day of the weekend (You'd be suprised how much walking is done in landscaping) unfortunatley I only walked 5 miles yesterday (that's what council meetings do )  Today I got up at 6.30 for a quick 3 mile march, it was pouring with rain which made it hard. I had a weighted rucksack of 10kg, this is a step up from previous weeks and I definitley noticed the strain. My midday march of 1 and a half miles was good, again, the rain persisted but I got it done. My walk in the evening was a slower march of 3 miles.  Labour wise I was just making some more wooden steps for a patio which wasn't too difficult, felt knackered after the weekend....

Dies Viginti

Today started off with a shirt march of 2 miles. My lower back and leg are killing me. I did this march with a light pack of 5kg. My second march of the day was unweighted and was a quick 1.5 miles. My evening march was another short two miles, I didn't want to push it and injure myself.  Labouring was chopping wood and moving sheets of OSB. I found moving the sheets was incredibly easy as I was able to move two at a time without too much hassle. This is definitely an improvement from when I first started. I gave myself a rest from training today as I didn't want to push anything. I will be training tomorrow but today I'll take a rest.  Nutrition wise I was a bit short on bread, only 130g, so under a sixth of what I would normally get. I'm going to out this down to poor supply problems and not a big enough grain delivery....  Mentally I felt pretty good, I started to feel quite anxious around dinner time but I think this was because of a lack of calories. Reflection...

Dies Undeviginti

Today started off well but the weather wasn't agreeable. Wind and rain caused the march to be at a faster pace than normal. I increased the weight in my rucksack to 10kg (22.5lbs). The middle march of the day was another quick 1.5 mile loop with the same conditions. The evening I didn't do a march as I was playing flag football again, this got my heartrate up but to be honest, it felt more like training. Labouring was clearing more undergrowth and saplings to form a path, the wet weather caused it to be quite humid doing this which wasn't pleseant, especially in a fleece. I would of taken the fleece off but the midges and clegs were a nightmare, not to mention the ticks. Training was 150 weighted vest pushups, 200 band pull aparts and 150 forearm raises. I focused more on my uipper body today as my left thigh has been feeling twinged since my workout on Tuesday. I have noticed my control with forearm movements ahs increased dramatically while doing the gladuis movements wh...

Dies Decem Et Octo

I did another short march at 6 AM this morning, thankfully it's cooler today. Even with the rain I preferred it to the blistering heat of the past few days. The first march was 3 miles in a respectable 45 minutes, weighted of course. I had another mid day march which again was good, I was quite surprised how much I sweated yesterday compared to today. I had another evening walk but this was along the flat in my nearby town. In total I covered 8 miles.  Labouring today was clearing shrubbery, I found the pull ups yesterday caused by the pullups. Over all it was still a good days work.  Training wise I did another 300 200 100 workout consisting of squats, scutum and gladuis movements and burpees, this was without a weighted vest as I think the impact of the weighted vest when dropping during the burpee would be pushing it.  Nutrition, I kept it simple with stew, although recently I found the sourdough bread giving me indigestion. I think it's just the amount I'm having (600...
