Dies Viginti
Today started off with a shirt march of 2 miles. My lower back and leg are killing me. I did this march with a light pack of 5kg. My second march of the day was unweighted and was a quick 1.5 miles. My evening march was another short two miles, I didn't want to push it and injure myself.
Labouring was chopping wood and moving sheets of OSB. I found moving the sheets was incredibly easy as I was able to move two at a time without too much hassle. This is definitely an improvement from when I first started.
I gave myself a rest from training today as I didn't want to push anything. I will be training tomorrow but today I'll take a rest.
Nutrition wise I was a bit short on bread, only 130g, so under a sixth of what I would normally get. I'm going to out this down to poor supply problems and not a big enough grain delivery....
Mentally I felt pretty good, I started to feel quite anxious around dinner time but I think this was because of a lack of calories.
Reflection
Weight
My current weight is 156.4lbs, on Tuesday ( when I got back from my hiking trip I weighed 159 lbs ! This was definitely water weight however some of it was definitely fat. This is quite a drop which I thought was surprising.
Calories
I currently use a Versa 2 fitbit which can sometimes be generous with the calories burnt, however, my calories were as follows :
Thurs -2,956
Fri- 4,063
Sat -4,184
Sun-2,957
Mon-3,554
Tues-3,064
Wed-3,206
Thurs-2,882
Fri -3,252
So my calories were actually less I think from the previous week. 4,000 days were while hiking and were counteracted by all the food I ate. However, weihgtloss wise, I find it interesting that I ate just about the same amount of calories as the previous week however I lost weight, which means either my fitbit is less accurate or i haven't put the correct ingredient amounts in my stew and breakfast even though I measure them out. It may also have something to do with the two meals a day ?

I wasn't able to stick to my 10-12 miles a week as much which I am a bit annoyed about, unfortunatley I had quite a busy week. I am away camping and hiking over the next few days which I will hopefully cover a lot of miles .
Thoughts
The week went quite well, I was able to get back into the groove of things. I felt more motivated since the hiking trip. I've tried to stick as much as I can to the life of a Legionary within the confines of the modern day, and while it is proving tough I am happy to keep going. Infact some of it, I might keep in my daily life.
Plans
I aiming in reducing the miles and increasing the labour. This is primarily as I feel the marches are over stressing my body but as well as my plan to link in with a battle. Within the next week I'm planning on a battle, this will involve a prolonged training session. This week I will also be trying roman food as I have all of the ingredients to make larduim and maybe even posca !
Roma Invicta !
