Dies Octavus
I was back to the usual schedule toady at 6 AM. The weather was calm an cloudy with slight rain throughtout the march. There had bee a bit of rain fall overnight which made some of the tracks boggy. Despite this I completed my 4 mile march in under an hour. I used a rucksack with 5kg in it which I found was vey easy, tomorrow I will add an extra 2.5kg into this to reach 10kg.My second march was another 1.5 miles with the same rucksack, this was on more single track which hadn't escaped the rainfall, especially in section with exposed roots it made the march harder. My third march was a slower pace along the flat. Overall I have covered 11.5 miles
Labour wise I excavated some ground to build some wooden steps. This was relativley light work and didnt take long.
My workout was good, I did the usual 50 pullups with band pull aparts inbetween. I then moved onto the usual pushups but this time put more band pull aparts in between sets for the first 4 sets, and then the sledge hammer/fore arm movement for the last 4. I moved onto gladuis and scutum drills where I did 100 stabs and thrusts. I am hoping further into workouts I will be able to up the amount.
Today I made stew with pork instead of beef and I was pleseantly suprised, it consisted of pork, cabbage, onion and carrot. I was suprised that it has less calories than the beef even though there is a higher fat content with pork. My protein was also suprisingly low, 90g instead of the previous weeks 115. It will be interesting what this drop in protein will do with my recovery each day.
Mentally it felt good to be back. despite it raining for most of the day and despite the midges ( to non scottish readers midges are like tiny mosquitos that gather in their hundereds that follow and bite you but can't spread disease thankfully) being a constant nuisance it was good to be back out.
